Here are the final results of the detail work in the stag’s neck, along with the tools I used in the process. @andypickard was asking about pencils to use to draw patterns on wood, and here is my favorite- a vintage Eagle Draughting 314. It leaves a nice line without denting, resists smudging, and most importantly, is easy to erase. You can still find these on eBay from time to time. The eraser is the Tombow Mono – which works so well erasing on wood. The tool for carving the fine lines is 1 mm #12 palm tool by Pfeil. If you keep it sharp it is like drawing in wood! #ninthwavedesigns #carving #woodcarving #womeninwoodcarving #handcarved #handtool #mahogany #pfeil #palmtools #eagle #draughting314 #pencil #vintagepencils #tombowmono #eraser #cooltools #stag #shield #celtic #celticart #hibernoscandinavian
